Given: "Both MgO(s) and NaF(s) have a face-centred cubic structure"...What's wrong: An ionic compound cannot have a face-centred cubic structure,
because it consists of at least TWO types of anions, so must be
interpenetrating lattices of face-centred cubic.According the 1996 AL examininer's report, the student mixed up the
structure of a METAL (e.g. face-centred cubic) with the structure of an
IONIC COMPOUND (e.g NaCl consists of interpenetrating face-centred cubic
lattices of Cl- and Na+)
NOW the HKEA question got the SAME MISTAKES!

Given: The question involves 1,6-dichlro-6-methylheptane which has one
primary Cl & one tertiary ClWhat's wrong: The question is supposed to ask the student to give the SN2
mechanism (RCl + HO-) for the formation of A in WATER with high [OH-]
and SN1 (RCl + H2O) for the formation of B, a simple question as it supposed
to be!BUT according the Solomons Organic Chemistry (a famous chem text in
university), 5th edition, p. 242The SN2 mechanism should use a POLAR APROTIC solvent (no water!) with high
[OH-]QUESTION: how can A be formed by SN2 WITHOUT touching the tertiary Cl, the
SN1 would have much higher rate than SN2 in water!!!!!My answer would be: A is the same as B
both are 7-chloro-2-methylheptan-2-ol, formed by SN1

1st mistake: wrong pKb as mentioned in newspaper2nd mistake: (ii) "Two electrodes are dipped into an aqueous solution of G,
H and J maintained at pH 7, and are connected to the two poles of a battery.
Which of these compounds, under such conditions, will remian almost
stationary? Explain your answer."What's wrong: How can a molecule in water remain almost stationary? There
must be Brownian movement in the solution!?Obviously the question missed the important set-up of "filter paper soaked
with electrolyte"My answer would be: ALL are moving!!!

這種性質被稱為波粒二象性光的形成是因為電子由高能階躍遷至低能階時放出的能量以光子形式排放出來,
這些光子如果是以可見光頻率放出來,則形式我們見到的可見光.光是會受地心吸力影響,因此出現"黑洞", 而是否磁場影響,我就不知了.
